I thought I’d do monthly favorites, but to be honest I don’t often buy new products to try out.. So these are just a few things that I have recently bought and loved or liked..
Firstly there is the Mecca nail polish in “cobalt”.
Now I had high expectations for this. There were several things that could have
contributed to me thinking so highly of this product such as the brand name or
the price of the product, but I was seriously disappointed with this nail
polish. I applied two coats just like the bottle recommended me to do, but it
still chipped after a day! Now I’m not sure if this was because I didn’t use a
topcoat or base coat, or the fact that I was working and using my hands a lot..
But I still couldn’t help but feel a little let down by the product and its
quality. However in saying all of that, I have been searching high and low
trying to find a nail polish that color and I finally found it! I did like how
this applied, it was a very runny liquid compared to what I’m used to, but it
applied evenly and it does look amazing on when its not all chipped off :( I
think next time I apply this I’m going to try it with a top coat and see how I
go with that.
Following with the nail polish purchases, I
also recently bought Rimmel London “I love fruities” lasting finish in the
shade 066 Cranberry Zest. I’m not going to lie this was a bit of an impulse
buy. I was on my lunch break and decided to pop into Priceline, always a bad
move for me to make. I wanted to buy the 60 seconds quick drying one and I
thought I had it, but I didn’t. This honestly is my second pink nail polish. I
HATE the color pink, but recently I have found myself liking it quiet a bit. I
liked this shade because it isn’t a bit obvious “look at me look at me!” pink,
it’s almost a red. It’s beautiful AND it’s scented! Honestly what more could a
gal want!
It has been a while since I last bought a
new lipstick, so when I was in sportsgirl the other day I had a cheeky look and
found a lipstick that tickled my fancy. I love wearing red lipstick, but sadly
I only own one which is the Russian Red by M.A.C, which I love to pieces, but I
feel as though its more of a winter color as it is quiet heavy. Anyway, back to
the Sportsgirl lipstick. I picked up a red in the shade “Almost Famous”. It is
a matte finish, which I like a lot; I don’t think I am really one for a shinny
lip so lipsticks with a matte finish are my best friends. It is highly
pigmented and applies beautifully and leaves your lips feeling moisturized. The
only bad thing is that you need to keep topping it up, but other than that I
love it and I will definitely be going and buying more of this collection
because for $9.95 why wouldn’t you!
Last product is something that I have
already purchased and loved and just finished. It is the M.A.C opulash optimum
black lash, which I purchased yesterday in the limited edition Archie’s Girls collection.
The packaging was to adorable to pass. Does anyone have any recommendations for
good mascara? Next time this one runs out I want to try a new one J
